On November 15th, TaiyangNews released its November 2025 list of the highest-efficiency mass-produced photovoltaic (PV) modules, including 47 products from 33 PV module manufacturers such as Aiko Solar, LONGi, Huasheng, Jinko Solar, Chint New Energy, JA Solar, Yidao Solar, Trina Solar, and Tongwei.
The total number of products in the November 2025 list decreased by two compared to the previous month. Maxeon's BC module was removed from the list due to product shortages, and a PERC module from Yidao New Energy was removed because product specifications could not be provided.
Among the key points of this list, TaiyangNews pointed out that Trina Solar's Vertex N-series launched a new model, TSM-NEG19RC.20, with a 23.7% increase in efficiency, rising from 9th to 3rd place. This is one of the biggest highlights of this ranking change.
From January to October 2025, Aiko Solar, Maxeon, and LONGi Green Energy consistently ranked in the top three of the list of the highest-efficiency mass-produced PV modules, all of which were BC modules. In March, LONGi Green Energy mass-produced modules with an efficiency of 24.1%, tying for second place with Maxeon. In June, LONGi Green Energy mass-produced modules with an efficiency of 24.2%, surpassing Maxeon to claim second place.
In October 2025, Jinko Solar's module efficiency improved from 23.32% to 23.51%, surpassing Huasheng New Energy's 23.5%, rising from 5th place in September to 4th. This marked the first time TOPCon module efficiency surpassed heterojunction modules in the list.
In the November list, Maxeon's BC modules were removed due to product shortages. Trina Solar's module efficiency improved from 23.2% in October to 23.7%, jumping from 9th to 3rd place. This was also the first time TOPCon modules ranked among the top three in 2025.
Such significant progress is mainly attributed to Trina Solar's relentless pursuit of TOPCon cell technology.
In October 2024, Trina Solar broke the world record for TOPCon cell efficiency, held for seven years by Fraunhofer, the inventor of TOPCon, achieving a peak efficiency of 25.9%.
Just one month later, Trina Solar launched its i-TOPCon Ultra technology, achieving a TOPCon cell efficiency of 26.58%, setting and breaking the world record for the 28th time and pushing TOPCon cell efficiency above 26.5% for the first time.
In December 2024, Trina Solar launched its all-scenario Vertex N-type modules in various sizes based on the new generation i-TOPCon Ultra technology. The large-format modules boast a power output of 760W, the medium-format modules 670W, and the small-format modules 495W.
On October 15, 2025, Trina Solar announced the commencement of large-scale delivery of its Vertex N-type i-TOPCon Ultra modules, a key reason for the significant efficiency improvement in Trina Solar's modules listed here.
Meanwhile, Trina Solar's significant efficiency improvement in its modules further reflects the "team advantage" of TOPCon modules.
In October 2025, Jinko Solar's TOPCon module efficiency surpassed Huasheng New Energy, achieving a breakthrough by exceeding heterojunction modules in efficiency rankings. This month, Trina Solar's module efficiency has surged into the top three, further narrowing the gap with Aiko Solar and LONGi Green Energy.
In addition, the efficiency of mass-produced TOPCon modules from companies such as Hengdian Dongci and JA Solar is also rapidly improving, demonstrating significant advantages in efficiency improvement speed and potential. In this ranking, TOPCon modules occupy 7 of the top 10 positions.
It is understood that with the future introduction of bifacial fully passivated contact technology, light trap technology, and ultra-fine grid line technology, TOPCon modules are expected to achieve a 0.3-0.4% annual increase in cell efficiency.
